Digital Content Creator – Amazon Rainforest  

crees is a not-for-profit charitable organisation working to bring economic, social and environmental harmony to the Manu region of Peru.  crees has been working in the region for over a decade and have set up many projects from conservation research to sustainable community initiatives all of which have had a real and lasting impact on the people living there.  Central to this role is the communication of this work to the outside world.

The role will be based at the Manu Learning Centre in the Peruvian Amazon.  The main focus will be to gather and produce inspiring content, including written, photographic and video, to tell the crees’ story through our volunteer and intern programmes, tours and expeditions.

It is vital to crees that we continue to expand our digital and social outreach. Key to this is producing engaging, inspiring and innovative content for our various platforms.

Ideal candidates will have a passion for the environment as well as previous experience of creating engaging content for marketing purposes. You will need to be committed and prepared to get stuck in with a dedicated team right in the heart of the Amazon in what is a challenging environment to be working in.  It is vital that you are confident, outgoing and have a real can-do attitude as a lot of this role will require being out in the field with volunteers, interns and tourists documenting their experiences with crees.

 Basic Requirements:

  • Must have own laptop to work on at Manu Learning Centre
  • Must be available to start January 2015.

Required Skills:

  • Ideal candidates will be educated to graduate level or have a minimum of 3 years relevant experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Fluent Spanish
  • First hand experience of using all social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest and Blogs
  • Experience in developing social media content to engage different audiences and create conversations
  • Experience in writing creative, clear and factually accurate material
  • Confident formulating and implementing content strategies with minimal supervision
  • Previous experience filming and editing
  • Ability to create both fun and serious content
  • Have a real can-do attitude and be a self-starter
  • Confident in front of the camera

Additional Information

Salary to be discussed dependant on experience

6 month contract with the possibility to extend
