This trip will take you from the coastal region of Lima into the Andean highlands, Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley before dropping down through several different ecosystems into Manu, one of the most biodiverse places on the planet.
Stephen has such a huge enthusiasm for nature that it is impossible not to be infected by it and is the perfect choice for anyone wanting to experience Peru at its best.
During this tour, you will stay at various lodges and hotels, Casa Andina in Cusco and Lima, Tierra Viva in Machu Picchu, Pararitampu in the Sacred Valley as well as Cock of the Rock Lodge in the Cloud Forest, the Manu Learning Centre, in Manu - all these lodges have en-suite private bathrooms and hot water.
We have twin or double shared rooms with en-suite private bathrooms and hot water.
Single rooms can also be booked but single supplement applies.
Communication is limited in Manu, there is wifi access between 7-9pm daily at the Manu Learning Centre only.

Arrival in Lima. Transfer to Hotel.
Full day excursion birding in Lima.
Fly from Lima to Cusco. Spend the rest of the day acclimatising to the high altitude.
Day excursion birding to Huarcapay Lake.
Take the train from Cusco up to Aguas Calientes to spend the day seeing the ancient ruins of Machu Picchu.
Take the train back down to spend the evening in the Sacred Valley.
Travel down to the famous birding route to the cloud forest.
Travel down to where the road meets the Madre de Dios river, tributary of the Amazon. Board a boat 45 minutes to the Manu Learning Centre.
Spend the next few of days at the Manu Learning Centre, explore the 25km of trails spotting the many different species the area has to offer. Learn and get involved in the conservation research alongside the resident scientists.
Overnight in Cusco on the return from Manu.
Travel back to the UK.
